July 17, 2018 Board Meeting Agenda Item #40 Title APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT FOR THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER PROGRAM BETWEEN CITY OF VENICE, FL AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FL EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2018 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2019 Description The School Board and City of Venice desire to provide enforcement and related services to the students attending Venice Elementary School and Venice High School. A School Resource Officer Program has been established for the public school system of Sarasota County, FL. The School Board and City of Venice recognize the potential outstanding benefits of the School Resource Officer Program to the citizens of Venice and particularly to the students of Venice Elementary School and Venice High School to maintain this program. Recommendation That the School Resource Officer Program between the City of Venice and The School Board of Sarasota County, FL effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 be approved as presented.
